Global Sustainable School Award 2017

The thrill and excitement of the Explore Nature adventure and learning programme has no stopping! The MAIS kiddies had a real feel of mountaineering when they climbed the steep and hard rocky hills – first step to top of the world! Then they moved onto explore the homes of their forefathers- the dark undiscovered passages of the prehistoric caves. To add more fun to the almost unending day the little Mowglis clambered up the tall trees never wanting to come down to earth.

Cleanliness drive by students of Mar Athanasius International School

The energetic boys and girls of M.A International School took another step closer to Mother Nature by involving themselves in a cleaning drive at Kothamangalam Municipal Park. The school Vice Principal M M George along with the Bursar Dr Benny Alexander set an example with their active participation in the campaign as part of the Global Sustainable Project. “Such cleanliness initiatives will prove to be an eye opener for our students to realise the disastrous effects of environmental pollution”, said the Principal, Mrs Prabhavathi Nambiar.

Dealing with problem of waste management, providing clean environment and mitigating pollution in the surrounding areas, MAIS has implemented a biogas plant with the 2in1 solution. The biogas plant is implemented to utilize the waste materials obtained from the school hostel to produce gas as cooking fuel and biogas waste used as fertilizer for the school vegetable garden. In addition to this solar panels are fixed throughout the campus to make use of the solar energy into electricity.
